The hearth is the sacred fire or heart of a home, and this space is a place where we gather together to feel safe, explore ideas with curiosity and kindness and find inspiration and collaboration to make magic in the world through storytelling.
I’ve created a fun, non-judgemental and nurturing online monthly membership for you to feel supported in a community of emerging filmmakers wanting to tell stories and make films from their heart, draw from their lived experience and be courageous to show up as their full selves in their work <3
COME AND CREATE IN COMMUNITY
I had a very unconventional route into the industry. I didn’t go to film school and after filming my own homelessness experience as a way to cope, it become HALF WAY, my first feature documentary. After self-distributing in the cinemas, I was awarded BAFTA Breakthrough and met LOLLIPOP’S two amazing producers who invited me to write a script. I developed the script intuitively and from my heart - just in the same way I made and filmed HALF WAY. I always like to say I didn’t go to film school but went to the school of life - as I believe wisdom and creativity comes from experience and allowing space for our soul to speak.
Coming from outside of the normal hierarchies of filmmaking enabled me to see things clearly and ways in which I wanted to work differently.
My dream is to inspire people to write and make from deep within them with integrity at every level of the creative process. I believe we can create a huge culture shift in the film industry if we work with the power of intention - making work with love <3
I love creating transformational spaces and building communities and I believe together we can create amazing work which touches hearts deeply and build something beautiful together. If you’d like to create and learn and expand in a sacred container with me - then this is the perfect place for you.
Sit by the hearth with an idea, either developed or just a seed waiting to be nurtured or maybe even nothing at all but an open heart and under the values which are so important to me. It will be a community where you can find creative expansion, collaboration, accountability, understanding and heart-centred decision making.
WHAT HAPPENS & WHO IS THIS FOR?
This is not only a nurturing community space for you to expand in a non-judgemental, kind home but really is the beginning of a movement and collective visioning for filmmakers who want to work from the heart and create an industry rooted in values of safety, shared vulnerability, mutual respect, integrity and collaboration. So much of the industry is rooted in competition and hierarchies, yet this is a space of co-learning, abundance thinking, and resource sharing for a beautiful world which we can all play a role in creating. I really see this as the hearth - or spark of a growing movement - and it will be an honour to build it with you. Here' you’ll find like-hearted people who share your values and intentions for storytelling and the powerful transformational and loving possibilities of it.
This is a monthly membership of £44:
Each month we gather for The Hearth - a live 1.5 hour zoom call where you can bring your scripts, the seeds of ideas, work in progress explorations and we will speak about them together and reflect and expand from each other in real time. These sessions aren’t about receiving the answers, but reflections from both me and your peers to encourage you to deepen your creative process, self trust, and shared insight.
There will be a weekly prompt of self-reflection to spark imagination, strengthen your authentic voice and keep connected to yourself and others. I truly feel that we can only meet a story as deeply as we have met ourselves.
Our community board is where you stay connected with one another - sharing progress for accountability goals, asking for support or shared resources or maybe even exciting new collaborations. We are here to dream, to vision, to co-create and make magic in the world. It’s a space to celebrate each other, uplift each other, encourage each other and be accountable for your self and others.
This isn’t about learning to make films, but coming home to the reason why we make them - and all the answers you’re looking for are in your own heart and in the alchemy of your own story. It’s not a space for passive participation. This is about you tending your own creative flame, engaging with the community, and taking ownership of your practice in a supportive space.
