Daisy-May had an unconventional route into the film industry - but even though it was a difficult time, she’d never change it because she believes her story holds hope for others and taught her first hand how storytelling can be used to alchemise our experiences - turning our pain into our medicine for ourselves and others. Through the process of sharing our truth from our heart, we create stories that resonate outwards.
In 2013, Daisy-May found out she was going to be made homeless with her family whilst graduating from University. She’d never thought about making a film before but during a very powerless situation felt if she could film what was happening then maybe she could take some of that power back. She filmed every day in the hostel, using her intuition and heart to guide her filming process.
Once her family were re-housed, with over 500 hours of rushes, she crowdfunded £15,000 to edit and complete the film along with three friends.
